COVINGTON — Nate Stykes has been dedicated to hosting many blood drives over the last year and encouraging more in the community to give back.
As the Covington-Newton Emergency 911 Center’s communications officer, Stykes has made it his duty to spread the word throughout Newton about the importance of giving blood.
“It’s important to come together as a team in the life-saving process because you never know when you or a loved one will need blood,” Stykes said.
His next blood drive will be held from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. June 25 at the Newton County Fire Services headquarters, located between McDonald’s and Pizza Hut on U.S. Highway 278.
For more information about the blood drive or to schedule an appointment, contact 1-800-RED-CROSS or go to redcrossblood.org. The sponsor code is “covbfl,” which stands for Covington Badges for Life. Stykes is also available to answer any questions or concerns at 770-784-2100 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
