Olde Town Summer Film Festival kicks off this month

CONYERS — The Conyers Main Street Foundation is once again presenting the Olde Town Summer Film Series at the Olde Town Pavilion at South Main Street on Saturday, June 21, and Saturday, July 19.

Beginning at 7 p.m. on Saturday, June 21, families are invited to the Olde Town Pavilion armed with lawn chairs and blankets for prime seating on the lawn for the screening of the movie “Frozen” on a 40-foot inflatable screen. Children are encouraged to dress as their favorite character from the Disney film for a chance to win prizes. The movie begins at dark, or about 8:45 p.m.

“The Lego Movie” will be shown on Saturday, July 19.

Both movies will be presented rain or shine. In the event of rain, the screen will be moved from the lawn to underneath the pavilion.

“Even with the rainy summer we had last year and rescheduling several of the movies, we experienced great success in bringing people to Olde Town to experience the charm of the area while viewing family friendly movies in a fun, relaxing setting,” said Conyers Main Street Foundation Chairwoman Brandi Wells.

Admission to the movies is free and coolers are allowed. Concessions will be provided by Rio’s Italian Ice, including hot dogs, pretzels and more for a small fee before and during the event. No pets are allowed.
