Citizen senior reporter Aimee Jones switched gears from writer to photographer on a recent trip to Georgia’s Jekyll Island where she captured these images. Though developed, Jekyll still maintains a significant dunes buffer area along its 10 miles of tidal beaches. Wildlife is abundant, both in and out of the water, at Jekyll, which supports animals such as great blue herons, egrets, pelicans, dolphins, sand dollars and sea turtles.
