RCSO: Woman poses as twin for pain meds

CONYERS — A woman allegedly impersonating her twin sister in an effort to secure prescription medication has been arrested.

According to the Rockdale County Sheriff’s Office incident report, Ruby Anne Clement, 42, of 4381 Bypass Road in Loganville, began posing as her twin sister, who has been in the Newton County Detention Center since May, to receive pain care treatments at a medical facility on Sigman Road in Conyers.

Clement, posing as her sister, came to the pain clinic on June 5 and received a lumbar procedure that required anesthesia before the procedure. Afterward, Clement receive a prescription for 30 mg of Oxycodone, the report states. The incident report states that the treatments were billed in the sister’s name to Medicaid Disability.

“Additionally, the impersonator requested that her information be kept confidential from her emergency contacts and that her appointments should not be changed by anyone,” Deputy Robin Morris reported.

A couple of weeks later, a second prescription for Oxycodone written for Clement’s sister was picked up by Clement at a Walgreens location, the report states.

Clement made another appointment at the pain clinic for the morning of July 10, at which time she was met by deputies, arrested and charged with first-degree forgery, according to Sgt. Andrew Arnold.
