Amici Italian Café, a family-owned Italian restaurant with six locations throughout Georgia, chose Corner Market in Conyers for its newest location.
The company will occupy more than 4,500 square feet of space in the mixed-use village center, which is located on the corner of Parker and Flat Shoals roads. Construction on the restaurant is set to begin in August 2014 with an anticipated opening by January 2015.
Chris Torino, Amici’s founder and vice president of brand development, and Mike Torino, president, represented the restaurant in the transaction. D.L. Roper & Associates LLC represented Corner Market, with Faye Phillips, associate director of the Corner Market Leasing and Management team.
“We are pleased to have Amici Italian Café join the growing list of in-demand tenants at Corner Market,” said Faye Phillips in a press release. “Amici chose Corner Market because of its ideal location, providing easy access to high-quality Italian food for the literally thousands of residents and workers along the I-20 East corridor.
“We’re excited for the restaurant to become an active part of the thriving Conyers-Rockdale community, as Amici restaurants have been active in the other Georgia communities in which they are located,” said Marty Jones, executive director for Conyers Rockdale Economic Development Council, in the release.
Founded in 1993 in Madison by three University of Georgia graduates, Amici’s corporate-owned and franchised restaurants have received numerous awards and recognitions, including “Athens’ Best Wings” for the past two years, “People’s Choice” awards for pizza and chili cook-offs in Milledgeville and Madison. Amici was also in the Top 100 Independent restaurants featured in Pizza Today magazine for several years in a row.
