Residents robbed, vans stolen at halfway house

CONYERS — The Rockdale County Sheriff’s Office is seeking three men who are believed to have robbed residents at a halfway-type home located off Stanton Road sometime around midnight on Friday and stole their vans.

According to incident report, the three victims had just pulled up in a van into the driveway of the home located at 1448 Hillside Place that is described as a “halfway-type house for recovering female addicts.” The victims had just returned home after picking up one of the residents at work.

“Three black males then rushed at them at gunpoint, pulled them out of the van and forced them into the house,” Camp said.

The suspects allegedly made the victims lie face down on the floor and bound their hands with cables. They took cell phones, laptop computers, credit cards, medication and other various items. The suspects also stole a 2005 Dodge Caravan and a 2002 Dodge Caravan that belonged to the victims, Camp said.

Camp said one of the vans was located sometime later in Lithonia, but the the other stolen vehicle has not yet been recovered.

No other description of the suspects was available, but anyone with information is asked to contact RCSO Investigator Troy Anderson at 770-278-8157.
