Students spend 'snow-cation' on the ice

With a day off from school due to Tuesday’s winter storm, Brycen Johnson, 9, and his cousin C.J. Carr, 10, decided to spend their “snow-cation” on the ice. But the two didn’t skate on the ice that covered Rockdale County roads, instead they spent Thursday afternoon skating at Have an Ice Day in Conyers. Johnson attends Lorraine Elementary in Conyers and Carr attends West Newton Elementary in Covington. (Staff photo: Jessicah Peters)
