CONYERS — A tip led Rockdale County Sheriff’s Office investigators to a Conyers man’s home where they found evidence that he was selling methamphetamine.
Investigator Michael Camp said once narcotics and vice investigators received the tip, they set up surveillance of the man’s trailer in Lakeview Estates and made an undercover purchase of drugs during that time.
On Friday, investigators obtained a search warrant for the home on 83 Frontier Drive, where they found the suspect, 33-year-old Randy Lee Heath.
“In his room, investigators located a black plastic magnetic case that contained several empty plastic zip bags, three plastic bags containing methamphetamine, a digital scale, a pill bottle with seven pills in it and more pill bottles throughout his room and the trailer,” Camp said.
He said the total weight of the methamphetamine found in the three bags was about 19 grams.
Heath was arrested and charged with possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute, possession of a Schedule IV controlled substance, (Clonazepam), and failure to keep drugs in original containers. He also had an active warrant out of Jasper County, Camp said.
