RCSO arrests man on rape charges

CONYERS — A Conyers man has been arrested for allegedly raping a family member, according to the Rockdale County Sheriff’s Office.

Peter Nickolas Conley of 3006 Granite Drive was arrested last week on charges that stemmed from an alleged incident in December.

Investigator Michael Camp with the RCSO said deputies were dispatched to the victim’s home around 3 a.m. on Dec. 15.

According to authorities, the 23-year-old Conley followed the victim into her room and locked the bedroom door behind her.

“At that time, he started touching her and pulled her into an adjoining bathroom where he forced himself on the victim,” Camp said.

After the alleged assault, the victim called 911.

“When deputies arrived, they found her crying uncontrollably on the couch,” Camp said.

Following an investigation into the incident, warrants were issued for Conley. Camp said he was arrested on Jan. 17 by the Walton County Sheriff’s Office and charged with probation violation. He was charged in Rockdale on Jan. 21 with rape, aggravated sexual battery and incest. Conley was transferred back to Walton County the next day. Once he completes his sentence there, Conley will be transferred to the Rockdale County Jail, Camp said.
