Seven promoted at Newton County Sheriff’s Office

COVINGTON — The Newton County Sheriff’s Office recently promoted several employees. Deputies Jacob Rice, Danny Peppers, Jack Redlinger and Investigator Colin Cunningham were promoted to the rank of corporal. Cpl. James Fountain was promoted to the rank of sergeant. Rice, Cunningham, Peppers and Fountain will oversee a shift in the Patrol Division. Redlinger will oversee the Traffic Unit. Deputy Cortney Morrison was promoted to the rank of sergeant and will serve as the state certification manager and public information officer supervisor. Investigator Michael Cunningham was also promoted to the rank of sergeant and will oversee the Office of Professional Standards Unit. Sgt.
