“Oh yes, you shaped me first inside, then out; you formed me in my mother’s womb. I thank you, High God — you’re breathtaking! Body and soul, I am marvelously made! I worship in adoration — what a creation! You know me inside and out, you know every bone in my body; You know exactly how I was made, bit by bit, how I was sculpted from nothing into something. Like an open book, you watched me grow from conception to birth; all the stages of my life were spread out before you, The days of my life all prepared before I’d even lived one day.” (Psalm 139: 13-16, The Message)
When I read these Scriptures I can’t help but think about how these words exuberate with anything but love.
In our comings and goings of every day life, we often forget how much Jesus really loves us. But when we read His infallible word, we can’t think of anything but how the Father loves His children.
It may by Valentine’s Day, the day of L-O-V-E. But I’m grateful that no matter what the world deems this day or any other day, I am surrounded by love on a daily basis.
Even on days when things aren’t “jiving,” when I can’t seem to get it right, or when I’m overly tired, I’m still loved by a Heavenly Father who is bigger than all that is right and all that is wrong in that moment of my life.
And guess what — you are too.
There have been times in my life when I’ve looked at people and thought, “Man, Jesus must really love that person.” Shame on me, because no matter what I think I’m seeing in that person’s life, Jesus loves me just the same.
Probably my favorite part of the above Scripture is this one: “You know me inside and out, you know every bone in my body; You know exactly how I was made, bit by bit, how I was sculpted from nothing into something.”
He formed beautiful you and me from nothing into something. Only an all loving God could take nothing and make it into nothing. Isn’t He the same God who took a rib from Adam, and formed Eve? A rib!
I don’t know your “status” — single, attached, married, widowed — but Jesus does. He knows the exact type of love you need right now in this very time in your life.
He is the only one who can fulfill your needs, wants and desires. The best part is, Jesus probably doesn’t care about a status — you are His kid, that is all He cares about.
J-E-S-U-S spells love. How do I know that? The Bible says that we love because He first loved us.
How so? He knew that the only way for us to be saved, especially from our sinful selves, was for Him to die on a cross for us. Jesus knowingly shed His own blood for us because He loved us that much.
That’s right, He stretched out His arms on a cross and died for us — and in doing so, He was telling each and everyone of us, I love you.
That’s love, and that’s Valentine’s Day, every day.
