Heritage boys wrap up No. 2 seed

The Heritage boys basketball team completed an outstanding regular season Friday, defeating Apalachee 85-73.

The Patriots (20-5, 13-3 Region 8-AAAAA) will open the Region 8 Tournament as the No. 2 seed and play county rival and No. 7 seed Salem in the quarterfinals Tuesday at 5:30 p.m. at Loganville High School.

Since being blown out by top seed Clarke Central January 17, the Patriots have won six consecutive games. The winner of Tuesday’s game - the third this season between the rivals (Heritage has won the first two) - will clinch a berth in the state playoffs, while the loser will see its season come to an end.
