The Rockdale volleyball team picked up victories over Veterans and host Houston County and fell to Northside-Columbus in a quad-meet Tuesday in Warner Robins.
In the first match of the night, the Bulldogs won 25-19 and 28-26 over Houston County, then rebounded from a 25-16 loss to Veterans in the opening game to win the final two games, 25-16 and 25-18.
“Against Veterans, we played a terrible first set, were down early, and never really got close,” said Rockdale coach Stephen Sansing. “However, the team responded in game two and game three, and led throughout, playing much better with increased effort.”
Northside picked up 25-10 and 25-11 victories in the night’s final match.
“Against Northside, we couldn’t get anything done offensively or defensively. We were a step slow,” Sansing said. “We have to find a way to dig deep at the end of a long night, and we did not do that (Tuesday).”
University of Georgia commitment Majesti Bass led Rockdale with 23 kills, while Shivon Gray handed out 45 assists.
