Former NFL wide receiver Keyshawn Johnson was arrested Monday morning for misdemeanor domestic battery, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.

Sheriff's deputies responded to a call in Calabasas at 12:48 a.m. Monday, according to a statement. After determining Johnson and his ex-girlfriend were involved in a domestic dispute, Johnson was arrested.

Johnson posted bond at 9:15 a.m. and was released.

After starring at Southern Cal, Johnson was the No. 1 pick in the 1996 draft by the New York Jets. He had an 11-year career in the NFL with the Jets, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Dallas Cowboys and Carolina Panthers that included three Pro Bowl selections.

Johnson is currently an ESPN analyst. ESPN said it is aware of the arrest.
