CONYERS — A resident in the Fieldstone View neighborhood reported this weekend that a grass fire broke out in her yard that damaged her neighbor’s fence.
According to the incident report filed by the Rockdale County Sheriff’s Office, a fire started in the back yard of a home on Fieldstone View Lane early Saturday evening.
The fire reportedly started about 25 feet from the home’s fence line and burned all the way to the fence. Authorities stated the estimated area of the fire damage was about 25 feet by 25 feet, the incident report states.
The fire also damaged the fence behind the residence. The homeowner there told the responding deputy that “she saw flames rising over the top of the fence, which burnt the inside of the fence and the dog house. Her dog was tied close to where the flames were at.” The woman said she used her water hose to attempt to control the fire until the fire department arrived, the report states.
A witness told fire fighters that he saw a group of juveniles running from the back yard where the fire started.
