A 78-room Courtyard by Marriott hotel opened in Conyers on April 5. This is the newest Courtyard in the area featuring a business lobby environment. Along with media pods, Wi-Fi and a variety of seating zones, the space is designed for everything from pop-up meetings to social gatherings, according to a press release from the company.
Located at 1337 Old Covington Highway, the hotel will operate as a Marriott franchise, owned and managed by Duke Hospitality of Lithonia. Rates begin at $139 per night.
According to the press release, the hotel features an open, bright and contemporary lobby. The traditional front desk is replaced with separate welcome pedestals. Seating options include a communal table in the middle of the lobby, private media booths with high-definition televisions, and a semi-enclosed lounge area.
The hotel also features The Bistro — Eat. Drink. Connect., a restaurant offering breakfast, and light evening fare, including snacks, coffee, cocktails, wine and beer. There is a also a small shop open 24 hours a day for snacks, beverages and sundries.
The hotel also offers a GoBoard, which presents local information, maps, weather, and headline news on a 55-inch LCD touch screen. The GoBoard features mobile integration, enabling guests to send directions from the GoBoard directly to their smartphones. Guests can also touch the screen for immediate access to detailed flight information for local airports, popular entertainment and local event information, as well as walking directions.
Throughout the hotel, guests can connect to complimentary Wi-Fi, and there are electrical outlets in the lobby to power digital devices. The business library features several computer terminals, along with a printer and separate computer stations dedicated solely to printing airline boarding passes and checking flight status.
The four-story hotel features an indoor swimming pool, fitness center and guest laundry, and offers 1,400 square feet of meeting space to accommodate functions of up to 90 people.
