Page leads Rockdale past Salem

The Salem baseball team has probably seen enough of Tyler Page over the last two seasons. For the second consecutive season, the Rockdale right-hander pitched a complete victory and defeated the rival Seminoles 7-3 Thursday.

Page struck out just one batter, but allowed just three hits and matched his complete game effort in a 3-2 win over Salem last March.

“He threw real well for us, kept the ball around the zone and kept the defense working. Changed speeds well to keep them off-balanced,” Rockdale coach Justin Arrington said of Page.

Will Hardy had three hits and Hardy and Malachi Eskin drove in two runs each to pace the Rockdale (11-9) offense.

Jordan Scott, Jason Howell and Cole Gibson drove in runs for Salem, which dropped to 7-11.

Pats win third straight

Heritage defeated Flowery Branch 3-2 Thursday at Danny Blue Field.

The Patriots, who won their third consecutive game, improved to 12-6 overall and 6-3 in Region 8-AAAAA.
