COVINGTON – Gaither’s Plantation and the local community are getting ready to welcome the warm weather with the Spring Fling and Festival on April 12.
Sponsored by A Southern Lady’s Events, the festival will have music performances, art displays and craft vendors. Food and commercial vendors will also be there, as well as pony rides and an area filled with farm animals.
Food vendors attending include Just Dogs, Tropical Delights, Little Jimmy’s Italian Ice and Dirty Dogs. A Southern Lady’s Events representative Katie Cannon stated that the event coordinators are in the process of working with a few food trucks to come to the festival.
Tickets are $5 per person, and a portion of the profits will benefit local 4-H and Future Farmers of America clubs.
“We will also be holding raffles throughout the day and the proceeds will also benefit the local 4-H and FFA clubs,” said Cannon.
In addition to entrance to the festival, a ticket purchase includes a tour of the plantation house, Harris Springs Church and other surrounding buildings.
The event will be held from 10:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Gaither’s Plantation is located at 270 Davis Ford Road in Covington. For more information, visit asouthernladysevents.blogspot.com.
