“How do I find out the schedule of RCHS football? I would like to go to more Friday games at home. Good fun for my whole family.”

“I just got a wake-up call from the big green grocery store chain this week. My wife normally cooks and shops for us but she was working late and I decided to make dinner. I went to the grocery store and bought boneless chicken, broccoli, carrots, boil-in-a bag rice, and some disposable Tupperware things. It totaled almost 17 bucks. And I still had to cook it! I could have taken her out to eat at a decent place for close to the same price. When did groceries get so high? Was it during Hurricane Katrina and they never dropped back down? I know the oil companies did that. They loved those high prices and kept charging them.”

“I have been teaching high school for a few years and have noticed some issues. Priorities of our local families are off, and I know this is not new information but our schools are enabling this. Every year I hear from kids that they cannot afford a calculator or a flash drive. But guess what kind of phones they have? They are not the cheap ones. But every year our schools buy calculators for these ‘poor’ kids to use in class. We let them turn assignments in late because they ‘don’t have access to computers.’ I would like it if we stopped paying these families.”

“Just saw the president’s address begging America to let him shoot a couple of missiles. It sounded very weak. Not very presidential. I guess I have to look up Syria to see where it is so I can stay halfway informed about this stupidity. None of this would matter if our big oil companies weren’t doing everything they can to stop energy conserving technology. Our world is suffering because those cave men in the Middle East have us in an economic headlock. Dependence on oil is dependence on uneducated idiotic cavemen to live peacefully.”

“I love the Fanfare pictures in the paper Sept. 9th! The pictures show the excitement of the event! I’m so glad to see Erin Evans back shooting pictures for the Citizen! Rockdale and Newton have missed Erin Evans’ pictures … happy she is back!”
