CONYERS — Young Americans Christian School is hosting its fifth annual blood drive in memory of the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks.
The blood drive will take place from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday at the school, located at 1701 Honey Creek Road in Conyers.
The blood drive was started four years ago by Corley Davis, who was a junior at Young Americans at the time.
“It is so important that all members of the school community, including our students, never forget the horrific events of Sept. 11,” School Administrator David Taylor said in a press release. “However, participating in events like this, in memory of Sept. 11, can often be the catalyst in the healing process.”
Donors must be 17 years or older, or they can be 16 years with written parental consent, and weigh 110 pounds or more. All donors must provide a photo ID.
The blood drive is sponsored by Life South Community Blood Centers. All donors will receive a recognition item and a cholesterol screening.
