Chamber presents workshops designed to strengthen small businesses

CONYERS — The Conyers-Rockdale Chamber of Commerce still has openings in its “How To Grow Your Business” workshops, a series of three sessions designed to strengthen small businesses.

On Sept. 10, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., the chamber presents “Dealing with Difficult Employees,” a workshop conducted by Ben Mance, director of facilities operations and security services for Rockdale Medical Center.

Mance will discuss how difficult employees can drain the resources of a business. He will cover topics including: performance management; leadership weaknesses; common types of difficult employees; and the detrimental effects of ignoring difficult employees.

The second workshop in the series, “Making Social Media Work for Your Business,” takes place on Oct. 8 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and is presented by Liz Hansen, an employee with Georgia Health Information Technology Extension Center. Hansen will share why small businesses should use social media and how to make social media benefit a business.

The final workshop in the series is “Tools to Grow By,” offered on Nov. 12 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Carla Culpepper Leverette, a business and life coach, will provide tips on how to better manage priorities in a small business and create a plan for success. She will also offer strategies for growing a business.

Registration fee is $25 per workshop or $60 for all three, for chamber members, and $30 per workshop or $75 for all three, for non-members. The workshop location is at the Conyers-Rockdale Chamber of Commerce, 936 Green St. For more information, call 770-483-7049 or visit www.conyers-rockdale.com.
