Frenchie and Scrappy Coco are ready to come home with you

This little lady, aptly named Frenchie, is ready to come home to a loving family. Frenchie is a poodle and is believed to be 1 or 2 years old. She is very friendly and was picked up on Aug. 22 as a stray by an animal control officer Frenchie can be rescued and adopted at Newton County Animal Shelter, located at 210 Lower River Road in Covington. The shelter usually has between 20 to 30 dogs and an equal number of cats eligible for adoption. The adoption fee for a dog or puppy is $25 and $10 for a cat or kitten. Spaying/neutering is mandatory for all animals. The shelter is open from 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday and from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturdays. The phone number is 770-786-9514. Scrappy Coco is eager to find a loving family that will play with him. At 3 months of age, this labrador-terrier mix puppy is sweet, energetic and in need of loving care. Scrappy Coco is up to date on his shots but not yet housebroken. He can be rescued and adopted at Rockdale County Animal Care and Control Shelter at 1506 Rockbridge Road in Conyers. At the Rockdale shelter adoption fees for dogs are $30 and $20 for cats. Spaying or neutering is required for adoption. The shelter is open from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Friday.
