Experienced bankers Michael Shelby and D.D. Quillian recently joined Pinnacle Bank, a locally owned community bank that has locations in Covington, Social Circle and Monroe. Quillian will serve as a vice president/business banker in the Monroe office while Shelby has been named business development and services specialist in Walton and Newton counties. He will be based in the Social Circle office.
Quillian has 27 years in the banking industry primarily in the Monroe and Walton County area. He will focus on business development and commercial lending in his new capacity.
He is a graduate of West Georgia College, where he earned his bachelor of business administration degree in finance. He is also a graduate of Georgia Banking School, held at the University of Georgia; and the Graduate School of Banking conducted at Louisiana State University.
He serves on the Board of United Way of Walton County, and is also a member of the Monroe Rotary Club. He has assisted with the Northeast Georgia Fund Drive for Boy Scouts of America since 2006.
Shelby comes to Pinnacle Bank with seven years previous banking experience as a vice president and banking center manager. He is a 1998 graduate of the University of Alabama, where he earned his bachelor of arts degree in communications.
Shelby frequently teaches a class on financial acumen at Clarke Central High School and Athens Technical College. He is actively involved in March of Dimes.
In his new role, Shelby will focus on business services, providing assistance to small business owners through cash management, remote deposit, merchant and payroll services.
