Covington First UMC Great Pumpkin Patch opens to public

Covington First United Methodist Church member Pat Bryan joined a relay line of 100 volunteers Wednesday as they unloaded about 2,000 pumpkins from a tractor trailer, in the background, onto the church grounds for the annual Great Pumpkin Patch. The Great Pumpkin Patch, located on the front lawn of Covington FUMC, 1113 Conyers St., has a variety of pumpkins for sale and and is open 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., Monday through Friday; 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., Saturday; and noon to 7 p.m, Sunday. The pumpkins, grown in Michigan, sell from between 50 cents to $10. The public is welcome to take family photos at the Great Pumpkin Patch and the patch is also open to school groups for field trips, where children will be rotated through different areas including storytelling, face painting, games and a pumpkin video. The field trip is free, and children can purchase a small pumpkin for $1 each.
