Teams sought for 4-ball tournament benefiting the Miracle Field

COVINGTON — The philanthropic spirit of golfers and the Oaks Course continues to shine as teams are signing up to play in the two-day 2013 Newton County Four-Ball Championship starting on Saturday, Oct. 26.

The two-player team tournament, four-ball format, sponsored by Fat Boys, will raise money for the Miracle Field.

Tournament organizers are hoping to limit the tournament to 60 teams.

Besides play on Saturday and Sunday, players will get the chance to test the speed of the greens and the quality of the course with an optional practice round on Friday.

Festivities will begin on Friday night with a player dinner. Players will also receive a full, hot breakfast each day of the tournament with a hot breakfast before the 9 a.m. shotgun start. Each player will be allowed to bring a guest for dinner Saturday night as well as lunch for each player on both days of the tournament. The Sunday lunch will be part of the awards ceremony.

The overall winning team will receive an award as well as gift certificates for the winners and runner-ups of each flight and tee gift options.

The $300 team fee also includes green and cart fees for the tournament rounds and the practice round.
