Sasuki hosts 17th Christmas Candlelight Tour in Covington

COVINGTON — Elegant and festive holiday decor will be showcased as the Satsuki Garden Club of Covington hosts its 17th Candlelight Christmas Tour of Homes on Dec. 7, from 1 to 7 p.m.

This year’s tour will include six homes:

• Highpoint at Chestnut Grove, the Wattersons’ federal-style home in Oxford, which features Civil War-era memorabilia;

• The Bryans’ Craftsman-style home in Clark’s Grove;

• The Showalters’ Asian fusion home in Covington, featuring at least 10 uniquely decorated trees;

• The Wagners’ Southern Living home in Covington, totally designed for a busy family;

• The Wisners’ Amber Leaf Cottage in Covington, nestled in a cul-de-sac and showcasing a traditional Christmas; and

• The Johnstons’ home, a charming Victorian in Covington known as Grayborne House.

Also included in the tour will be Benton House, an assisted living home featuring its own Festival of Trees. Hors d’oeuvres, homemade holiday desserts, hot chocolate and tea will be served to those participating in the tour.

Church of the Good Shepherd Episcopal, with its Carpenter-Gothic-style architecture, will also open its doors for the tour.

Proceeds from this year’s event will continue to help support the club and future projects, including Covington’s Historical Square beautification. Club projects this year included helping with the Serenity Garden at Newton Medical Center and donation of a tree to help support the Festival of Trees.
