Deshaun Sunderhaus is off to a fine start out west. The former Rockdale basketball player scored in double figures for the third time in four games, contributing 11 points in Seattle’s 86-68 loss to Boise State Tuesday.
Sunderhaus, a redshirt-sophomore who was coming off a double-double of 19 points and 11 rebounds in a victory over Evergreen State, hit 5-of-8 field goal attempts and added five rebounds against Boise. Seattle, which is off to a 2-2 start, hosts UC Riverside November 25.
Tucker lending a helping hand for Tigers
Meagan Tucker had just one assist in nine minutes of Auburn’s 77-49 victory over Alabama A&M Tuesday, but that followed a career game for the freshman from Alcovy. Tucker handed out eight assists to go along with nine points in the Tigers’ 78-74 loss to Temple November 16. Tucker is averaging 4.3 points and is third on the team with 10 assists through four games. Auburn (3-1) visits Chattanooga Sunday at 2:00 p.m.
Ware getting back into rotation
Kevin Ware is still working his way back from a leg injury suffered last March, but the junior from Rockdale is contributing for the defending national champions. In his second game of the season, Ware had four points and two steals in the Cardinals’ 87-48 win over Hartford. Ware added an assist and a block for Louisville, which is off to a 4-0 start and has won 20 consecutive games.
Ware has played a total of 26 minutes in the two games and is averaging 4.5 points for Louisville, which plays Fairfield in the Hall of Fame Tip Off Tournament in Uncasville, Connecticut Saturday at 2:00 p.m.
