“The Newton public schools have gotten so bad that in many there is a culture of acceptance of low academic standards. Turnaround is near impossible and private schools are coming to the rescue. I beg the Georgia Legislature to cut funding to the low-performing Newton schools and voucher those dollars so we can send our kids to better schools. I went to a summit and was disgusted by the gratuitous pats on the backs Newton leaders give themselves for mediocre accomplishments. Sickening.”

——

“To the thugs in the school system central office: do your jobs and stop trolling our schools. Our principal almost came to blows with two of your puppet minions recently and we are fed up with your demands that we tweet on Twitter during work. You are adult bullies. Leave us alone.”

——

“Reward schools? Newton High, aka Arrest Central, and Alcovy ‘Pot Brownies’ High? Is this how you reward bad schools? Geez, it is time for change called choice. Pray for that people. We are honoring awful performance. SAT scores are not even above the state, which means the only school kids can get in now is Georgia Piedmont.”

——

“The current state of student achievement in NCSS is something the board should account for. Low SAT scores and low percentages of kids earning HOPE are why we need school choice. Kids leaving NCSS are having a hard time getting in colleges or making it once there. Shameful.”
