COVINGTON -- The Alcovy girls soccer team had several firsts this season. The Tigers hosted their first playoff game and they had players nominated to the all-region team.
Making the Region 2-AAAAAA team for the Lady Tigers were midfielder Morgan Edelman, forward Alex Jordan and goalkeeper Marie Peck.
"This is the first time that we have had girls voted on to the all-region team," Alcovy head coach Phil Davidson said. "It is significant because it shows that other coaches from throughout the region recognize their talent and skill. There have been many times during the past couple of years that other coaches have approached me stating how good they felt some of our players were. It's nice that they finally got some formal recognition. All three are definitely deserving of the honor."
