COVINGTON -- The Newton County Sheriff's Office arrested three suspects who allegedly robbed a man that one of them met on a social network.
According to Investigator Mike Cunningham, the male victim met a man on the social networking site Tagged and made plans to meet with him at a residence on Mountainview Drive. Once the victim arrived he was approached by three black men, one brandishing a gun, who demanded his money and ordered him to exit his vehicle. The victim gave the men an undisclosed amount of money and once he got out of the vehicle, ran away, unhurt. The three suspects took off in the victim's Acura Sedan.
Investigators were able to identify the men through the social network site and they were arrested early the next morning.
Arrested were Gabriel Deangelo Toney, 19, address listed as P.O. Box 2021, Covington; Joshua Lamar Dickerson, 19, of 235 Mountainview Drive, Covington; and Paul Frazier Allen, 22, of 2000 Schilling Ave., Albany. According to the NCSO, all three were charged with hijacking a motor vehicle; aggravated assault; possession of a firearm or knife during commission of a crime; and armed robbery/intimidation/taking of controlled substance.
