School Crime Report for May 3, 2013

The Newton County Sheriff's Office provides School Resource Officers to each high school and middle school in Newton County. The following is a list of reports filed by these officers that have been received by the Newton Citizen:

ALCOVY HIGH SCHOOL

A Newton County Sheriff's Office deputy was dispatched to a home address on April 19 regarding a hit and run accident that had occurred earlier in the day at Alcovy High School.

EASTSIDE HIGH SCHOOL

An employee with Eastside High School called the NCSO on April 27 after someone broke into her automobile and stole her purse while parked in the school parking lot.

MAINSTAY ACADEMY

Around 9:15 a.m. on April 29 a 19-year-old female student at Mainstay Academy became disruptive, cursing and talking loudly in the hallway and entering classrooms she wasn't assigned to. Despite repeated warnings to calm down, she continued her unruly behavior and was ultimately arrested and charged with disorderly conduct, obstruction of a law enforcement officer and disrupting a public school.
