Broun announces Liberty Day project

ATHENS -- In honor of Liberty Day on March 16, U.S. Rep. Paul Broun has invited students in the fifth grade of the 10th Congressional District to participate in a project headed by the Liberty Day organization. Students will have the opportunity to submit questions regarding the U.S. Constitution to Broun via email and he will answer them personally by letter. Additionally, Broun will select one outstanding class to visit later in the school year to give a briefing on the Constitution.

"It is so important for our students and young people to study our nation's most precious document to get a good grasp of the principles on which our Founding Fathers anchored this country," Broun said. "As an 'original intent' Constitutionalist, I carry one with me everywhere I go and base every legislative decision I make on its text."

The deadline to submit email is today. Questions should be submitted to jessica.hayes@mail.house.gov with "Constitution" in the subject line.

Liberty Day is a nonpartisan, nonprofit organization founded in 1996, dedicated to educating all Americans, but especially the next generation, about the contents of the Constitution of the United States of America.
