3 Newton deputies graduate from Public Safety Training

The Georgia Public Safety Training Center Athens Academy held its graduation ceremony on Friday at the Commerce Civic Center. Newton County Sheriff’s Office had three graduates from the class and Sheriff Ezell Brown, far right, was on hand to congratulate them. From left are deputies Christopher Richardson, who was also awarded the Top Gun Award for highest average in six 30-round courses of fire; Kathy Esque, second in overall academics; and James McGilvray. Richardson and McGilvray will join the Uniform Patrol Division, and Esque will return to the Criminal Investigation Division Crime Analysis Unit.
