CONYERS -- Several local players teamed up to play in the rain-shortened, three-day Georgia four-ball tournament at the par-72 courses of Doublegate Country Club and Stonebridge Golf and Country Club in Albany.
Due to heavy rain in the Albany area on Saturday night, Stonebridge Golf and Country Club was deemed unplayable, canceling the final round for flights four through seven. The 36-hole scores for those flights are considered final.
The team of Frank Webster (Conyers) and Chad Davis (Social Circle) won the fourth flight with a two-day total of 137. The duo shot a 4-under 68 on the first day before shooting a 3-under 69 on Saturday.
Their closest competitors were the team of Jeff Brown (Calhoun) and Kevin Malone (Suwanee), who had a 3-under 141 after shooting an even-par 72 followed by a 69.
Zachary Garner of Conyers and Michael Pizzitola of Alpharetta played in the second flight, where they came in eighth with a three-day total of 219 including rounds of 75, 71 and 73.
Also in the second flight was the team of David Baker and Tom Lindley, both from Conyers, as they finished one stroke behind the No. 8 team. Baker and Lindley tied for ninth place shooting rounds of 73, 75 and 72.
Coming in seventh place in the third flight were Scot Ward (Conyers) and Rick Dubois (McDonough) with a three-round total of 220. The team had rounds of 75, 71 and 74.
