COVINGTON -- Newton County Sheriff's Office investigators are looking for a young man who crashed his dirt bike into the back of a home on Mountain View Circle.
According to the NCSO incident report, the deputy who was called to the scene said he could see where the dirt bike came through the back yard of the residence and struck the back of the house.
"It appears as if the front tire of the dirt bike went through the siding on the outside of the home and broke through the sheet rock on the interior side of the wall," the report states.
The complainant told deputies around 10:30 a.m. Monday, a young black male between the ages of 18 and 20 and wearing a white shirt, rode the bike into the back of her home. She said she went outside to see what had happened and found the rider on the ground complaining of an injury to his ankle.
While waiting for the NCSO to arrive, the woman said another young black male, wearing a jacket with a Budweiser insignia on it, arrived and pushed the dirt bike away. The injured rider also left the scene limping, she said.
NCSO Public Information Officer Cortney Morrison said deputies later received a tip leading them to the young man in the Budweiser jacket who was very vague about the identities of the owner of the dirt bike and the man who was driving it.
"He acted as if he barely knew the other individuals," Morrison said.
The case is still under investigation.
