COVINGTON -- Two men reported to the Covington Police Department that they were robbed at gunpoint in their Bohannon Street home Thursday night.
According to the CPD incident report, the men and a woman were at the house around 10:30 p.m. when two men came "through the back door and told everyone to get on the ground."
One victim said one of the men put a gun to the back of his head, but said he could not see the gun. He said the second man "stood there with a chrome pistol."
The victims were robbed of a substantial amount of cash (mostly $20 bills) and a Metro Smart Phone.
Although the female victim said the back door was kicked in, officers at the scene reported there was no evidence the door had been kicked in.
One of the robbers was described as approximately 5 feet, 4 inches tall, dressed in all black with a black ski mask. The men reported they did not get a good look at the robbers as they were face down on the floor.
In other crime news, a man reported to the CPD that he was beaten up by a friend he was staying with for not going to the store for the man.
The man told officers the man wanted him to ride his bicycle to the store and at first he agreed, but then decided he was "too tired to pedal his bicycle due to riding all day so he went back into the residence." That's when his roommate attacked him.
The officer observed bruising and swelling to the right side of the victim's face.
He said he didn't know whether he was knocked unconscious, but he remembered being hit in the head twice and the next thing he remembered was being face first on the ground and bleeding from his mouth and head.
The assailant fled the residence.
