Food Pantry needs supplies

Thompson said the pantry can't reopen until enough donations to feed between five and 10 families are received. Thompson said demand has increased since school let out, possibly because families that had free and reduced meals for their children at school now have to provide three meals a day. - Staff Photos: Sue Ann Kuhn-Smith

We are members of a local Geocaching group "The East Side Gang" and we're coming up there tomorrow (Friday) morning to drop off a sizable amount of food for the pantry! We did some shopping AND called around to local grocery stores and asked for donations. Mr. McCullough at Kroger (Newton Plaza) and Crystal Smith at Ingles (Turner Lake Rd) were both VERY generous in donating! Our Niece also got in on the act and took her Grnadmother shopping today so she will be with us as well, to drop off her donation!!
