Deputies seek robber who fired at customer

CONYERS — The Rockdale County Sheriff’s Office is looking for a man who held up the Starship adult novelty store and fired a gunshot at a customer Friday morning.

RCSO Investigator Michael Camp said the black male suspect held up the lone clerk at the Starship at 1682 Ga. Highway 138 at about 11 a.m. During the course of the robbery, a customer started to come in the door, Camp said, which apparently startled the suspect. He fired one shot through the front glass door, missed the customer, and then fled on foot.

Camp said the suspect got away with an undisclosed amount of cash.

The RCSO, assisted by the Conyers Police Department, set up a perimeter in the area but officers were unable to find the suspect. Camp said the man may live in the area or may have had a car nearby.

The gunman is described as a slender black male of average to below average height. He was wearing gloves, a mask, dark blue jeans, a blue hooded sweatshirt, black shoes and was armed with a silver handgun.

Anyone with information about this robbery is asked to contact Lt. Sonya Cordero with the Rockdale County Sheriff’s Office at 770-278-8152. Anonymous tips may also be submitted to Crime Stoppers Atlanta at 404-577-TIPS (8477) or at www.crimestoppersatlanta.org.
