Lookout issued for woman with history of mental illness

CONYERS — A woman who walked away from her personal care home on Briar Hill Lane near Salem Road Monday is the subject of a lookout issued by the Rockdale County Sheriff’s Office.

According to the RCSO, Katherine Ferris, 61, is under state care for mental illness and has a history of assaulting others when not on medication. The RCSO advises caution if contact is made with Ferris.

The missing woman is described as a white female; 5 feet, 5 inches tall; and weighing 200 pounds. She has long brown hair and blue eyes and was last seen wearing a pink shirt, blue jeans and white Reebok shoes. She is known to frequent fast-food restaurants, according to the RCSO.
