I love the Newton Citizen. They don't smear people like the rag across town. They don't sensationalize stories they just print the facts. They don't try to run people down. They don't have to constantly retract things they print like another paper. I think it is great that the LaQuanda Brown Carpenter won Mrs. Floyd an award the Citizen stayed on top of the real story there all the way through without doing gutter journalism and inserting themselves into the melee. Very happy to purchase and read and share the good news of the Newton Citizen. Quality is obviously a goal at this paper. I always find integrity in their stories and use the other paper across town to line my cat pans. I will never forgive that other paper for the way they ran down a teenager a while back.

This is the best paper in town by far with objective reporting and facts. I love how that other paper in town attacks the anonymity of people on the comment sections then prints a huge front page story yesterday on a councilman they apparently don't like and they use ANONYMOUS sources. Hysterical.

@eyewitness - I have heard employees of the rag on the other side of town brag that they don't use anonymous stories and you are so dang right that Sunday article mentioned more than one anonymous source that is so hypocritical.
