BenchMark Physical Therapy clinic recently opened a location at 11186 Ga. Highway 142 N. in Newton County, with Dr. Stevi Wheeler and Dr. Malynda Carruth serving as physical therapists at the facility.

A native of Conyers, Wheeler received her doctorate of physical therapy from the University of North Georgia. She has experience in orthopaedic manual therapy and sports medicine and plans to pursue further advanced training in these areas, as well as trigger-point dry needling. She volunteers and uses her specialized knowledge working with special needs children and amputees.

Carruth has worked as a physical therapist in the communities of Conyers and Lithonia. She received her doctorate of physical therapy from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga and has more than 20 years of experience in orthopaedic physical therapy. She is a certified ergonomic assessment specialist, making her qualified to perform assessments and determine potential hazards in the workplace or other settings that can contribute to musculoskeletal disorders.

"Malynda and her team have a reputation for great patient outcomes," Dr. Coleen Rodney-Brown, physical therapist and regional director for BenchMark, said in a press release. "We are pleased to have Stevi join the team. She has a passion for helping patients get better quickly."

BenchMark Physical Therapy is a regional outpatient physical therapy organization with expertise in orthopaedic manual therapy, a hands-on approach to patient care.
