Summer movie series comes to Olde Town

CONYERS -- Area residents will soon be able to enjoy a summer movie under the stars in Olde Town. The Conyers Main Street Foundation is presenting the Olde Town Summer Film Series at the Olde Town Pavilion at 949 South Main St. on the following Saturdays this summer: July 13, Aug. 10 and Sept. 7.

Beginning at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, July 13, families are invited to the Olde Town Pavilion armed with lawn chairs and blankets for prime seating on the lawn for the screening of the movie "Here Comes the Boom" on an inflatable screen. The movie begins at dark, or about 8:45 p.m. The movies showing at the August and September dates will be announced at the July movie. In the event of rain or severe weather, the movie will be rescheduled to a weeknight the following week.

"These outdoor movies have proven to be quite popular in other downtowns and we wanted to encourage families and residents to come out and enjoy a movie beneath the stars in Olde Town Conyers," said Conyers Main Street Foundation Chairman William Emofonwman. "This is a great way to bring people together and showcase all that Olde Town has to offer as far as venues, event possibilities, dining and shopping opportunities and more."

Admission to the movies is free and coolers are allowed. Concessions will be available for a small fee before and during the event. No pets are allowed.

Sponsorships for the movie series are available by contacting Conyers Main Street Foundation board member Matt Robuck at 770-815-3212 or mattrobuck@gmail.com and Joseph Roberts at 770-714-3505 or jroberts1023@gmail.com.
