CONYERS -- Edwards Middle School was able to get back its county wrestling trophy.
Thanks to nine individual champions and eight runners-up in 21 weight classes, Edwards defeated local rivals Davis Middle, Memorial Middle and Conyers Middle, winning the Conyers Cup Traveling Trophy, the second title for head coach Duane Turner.
Edwards ended the four-year run of Davis, which had won the county championship from 2009-2012. Before that, Edwards won titles from 2005-2008.
All four teams will compete in the New Rock league duals Saturday at Davis, while the league title will be held Feb. 2 at Indian Creek Middle School.
