Superior Court Judge Samuel Ozburn accepts the R.O. Arnold Award from the Covington-Newton County Chamber of Commerce at their annual meeting at the Charlie Elliott Wildlife Center Thursday night. Making the presentation to a surprised Judge Ozburn are Chamber President Hunter Hall and former Arnold Award recipient Louise Adams. Considered to be the most prestigious honor a Newton County resident can receive, the award recognizes a lifetime of community involvement and achievement. Winners of the Dick James Small Business Award Brad and Martha Stewart of Bradley's BBQ walk to the stage to receive their award. Bradley's BBQ was founded in 1999 and the restaurant is located at 1160 Church Street, a block off the Covington Square. The award, created in 2000 to acknowledge and celebrate achievements of small businesses in Newton County, is named in honor of the late Dick James, a longtime president of the Chamber of Commerce.
