COVINGTON — An Amber Alert that was issued around noon Wednesday by Houston County, Tenn, authorities for 2-year-old Cale Whitehead has been canceled. Law enforcement in Tennessee had said the child was taken by his non-custodial father after he assaulted the mother Wednesday morning and was believed to be headed to the Covington area.
Local law enforcement was asked to be on the lookout for the father, Austin Whitehead, 23, is believed to have ties to this area, according to Covington Police Department spokesman Capt. Ken Malcom.
Houston County is located in Middle Tennessee.
