Heritage soccer player Mady Carter received a huge honor recently. The junior goalkeeper was named to the Georgia ODP Youth Soccer team and will play in the ODP (Olympic Development Program) National Championship this weekend at the FC Dallas Stadium Complex in Frisco, Texas.
Carter will play on the 1996 girls team and play in a semifinal match against Indiana at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. If the Georgia team wins, that will set up a championship match at 10:30 a.m. Sunday.
US Youth Soccer ODP, established in 1977, is the original Olympic development program in the United States, which identifies a pool of players in each age group from which a National Team could be selected for international competition.
