Keeping warm the old-fashioned way Kevin Sears an employee of Elm Street Pawn Shop delivers a wheelbarrow-load of firewood to the trunk of a customer's car as the wind chill dips down and folks are looking to turn up the heat Monday afternoon. The shop is owned by the Shirah family and has a good supply of oak firewood for sale. The wheelbarrow will hold about 40 pieces and the going rate is 50-cents a stick or $20 a load. Mark Shirah said sales are looking better this year than last, as the winter of 2012 was pretty warm. The store is open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Saturday. - Staff photo by Sue Ann Kuhn-Smith
