Everyone needs several pasta recipes for their recipe box, so here is one more.
My sweet friend and co-worker Michelle Floyd forwarded me this recipe a couple weeks ago. This recipe calls for a jar of tomato sauce and a jar of alfredo sauce.
Some tomato-based dishes can be overwhelming with the tomato flavor. But I think the alfredo sauce helps cut that tomato taste and give this dish a nice combination of the sauces.
Michelle said this recipe was quick and easy, and that only adds to my love for this recipe.
Penne Pasta Bake
1 box of penne noodles
1 pound of ground beef
1 jar of tomato sauce
1 jar of Alfredo/cheese sauce
half bag of shredded Italian cheese
Italian seasonings
Boil penne noodles according to the direction on the box.
Saute ground beef, drain and return to the skillet.
Add tomato sauce, Alfredo sauce and Italian seasonings (garlic, basil, pepper) to ground beef in the skillet.
Simmer for 5 minutes.
Mix in drained noodles and add to ground beef mixture.
Add to casserole dish and top with cheese.
Bake about 15 minutes or until the cheese is brown.
Tip: Serve this past dish with a salad.
