Kim Waters, manager at Fitness Forum at Newton Medical Center, takes the blood pressure of Patti Dolan, a volunteer at NMC for the past six years. The hospital held a health screening event in the lobby of the hospital on Tuesday in honor of national Cardiac Rehab Week and Heart Health Awareness Month. Hospital staff gave blood pressure and blood glucose checks, body fat analysis and respiratory health checks to about 100 visitors. They also provided a nutritional and breast cancer awareness information. The hospital will hold a Teacher Appreciation Day all day on Thursday, Feb. 21 for female employees of Newton and Rockdale County schools with refreshments, door prizes and mini massages in the Women's Diagnostic Center, which is located in the hospital physician's pavilion.
