CONYERS — A McDonough man came home from work last weekend to learn his car was burned in a fire.
Rockdale County Fire and Rescue teams along with the Rockdale County Sheriff’s Office responded to the area of Flat Shoals and Klondike roads shortly after 2 a.m. Saturday and found a blue 2007 Chrysler Pacifica was completely burned. Portions of the woodline had small scattered fires, as well, the incident report states.
Authorities contacted the victim, who arrived at the scene. He told deputies that when he left for work around 1:30 p.m. Friday, his car was sitting in his driveway. The victim told deputies that he was planning to have someone named “O” work on his vehicle.
“When he got home from work around 2 a.m., he went into his residence and asked his wife where the vehicle was,” the incident report states. “(He) stated his wife said maybe the repo man took it.”
The incident has been turned over to Rockdale County’s arson investigator.
